The Institute implements two accredited training areas: 38.03.06 "Trading Business" and 43.03.03 "Hospitality". Since 2013 it is also being prepared for practice-applied bachelor programs, which distinguishes the focusing on employers’ needs and on extended opportunities for the further employment of graduates.

Each year, the Institute of Small and Medium Business space allocated for training students on a budgetary basis, indicating that the state interested in experts in these areas. In 2016, the reception of applicants on the budget basis will be in the following areas:

The direction of "trading business" of the Department of Commerce and Hospitality IMiSB VlSU - a unique combination of generated competencies in sales management, entrepreneurship, marketing and logistics. The knowledge and experience gained during the training, allow graduates to work not only on employment but also to set up their own business.

Education: University degree (bachelor).

Training Dates:

- On the basis of 11 classes: full-time - 4 years, part-time - 5 years;

- On the basis of secondary special offers distance shortened form - 3,5 years;

- On the basis of a higher offer distance shortened form - 3 years.

Entry exams:

1. Russian language (as foreign language).

2. Mathematics (profile).

3. Social Science.

General characteristics of the profession

Bachelor of trading business - a specialist in organization of the companies' activities in the field of product distribution and sales of goods and services for profit.

Organization and management of trading activities require professional management and have the specificity depending on the form of trade (wholesale, retail, electronics and others.). It includes not only the conduct of transactions for buying and selling, but also legal support of transactions process, financial and business transactions in the field of sales and trade, the implementation of pricing and product policy of commercial enterprises, the organization and conduct of mediation and other types of operations.

In trading as in any other sector of the economy, an intense competitive environment has formed. The entrepreneurial and investment activity in this area is the highest. Retail trade turnover in Russia by Federal State Statistics Service of more than $ 450 billion.

- assess the quality of goods and services, diagnose faults and manufacturing defects;

- manage the merchandising of products in order to minimize the loss of goods, the cost of material and labor resources;

- develop and imply pricing strategies;

- regulate the processes of storage of goods, to conduct an inventory, identify and write off losses;

- improve the quality of customer service;

- study and predict demand based on consumers’ demands in certain market segments;

- make advertising messages, taking into account the financial capacity of the organization to choose the types of advertising, organizing promotions;

- apply the existing legislation, as well as the requirements established by technical regulations and standards;

- select business partners, conduct negotiations with them, enter into contracts and monitor their implementation;

General characteristics of the profession

Hospitality industry - one of the most promising and profitable businesses. It requires considerable investments, but their return is very fast. Business growth and business trips, the desire to discover new experiences leads to an increase in demand for hotel services in Russia and around the world. Increasing the number of middle-class citizens, removal of visa barriers, increasing financial and economic stability in Russia leads to an increase in tourist flows, both within the country and abroad. Enterprise development of hospitality and tourism industry is one of the priorities of state policy.

The Russian market was an acute shortage of professional hotel staff, especially in view of the upcoming large-scale events like FIFA World Cup - 2018.
